When using continuous shot mode or shooting pictures in very small intervals, you can take about twice as many pictures with the Sandisk ultra II than with the IBM Microdrive.
What do we learn? It matters which CF card you use!

SanDisk propose ?ɬ©galement des cartes Extreme III. Avec un EOS 350D, en RAW+JPEG, il soutient assez bien le choc pour une dizaine de photos en rafale.

Sure there are more performant CF cards than the Sandisk ultra II.
I based my decision to buy an ultra II card on a comparison by Rob Galbraith on www.robgalbraith.com/bins/multi_page.asp?cid=6007-7699 and on the prices found on www.speicher-shop.ch.
extreme III ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú 6.263 MB/sec ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú Fr. 134.10
ultra II ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú 5.695 MB/sec ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú Fr. 96.30
This makes, on a Canon 350D, a performance gain of ~10%, for a price raise of ~40%. Which I am not ready to pay for. Simple math, but after all, each gotta make his own choice.
